The Nua Clinic offers the below treatments:

Wrinkle treatments involve the use of small injections that temporarily block nerve signals to certain facial muscles. By relaxing these muscles, the overlying skin also relaxes, reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. These effects typically last around four months, after which the treatment gradually wears off, and the wrinkles begin to reappear.
-
To prepare for your wrinkle treatment, please arrive with no makeup, foundation, or similar products on your skin to minimize the risk of infection.
To help reduce the risk of bruising:
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment.
Discontinue fish oil supplements at least 5 days prior.
Avoid high doses of garlic, ginger, ginkgo biloba, or ginseng.
If possible, stop taking any anti-inflammatory medications (such as Nurofen, ibuprofen, or naproxen) 5 days before your treatment.
If you're taking prescription medications like warfarin or other anticoagulants, it's important not to stop them if prescribed by your doctor. You can still proceed with injectables, but be aware that bruising may be more common and noticeable.
-
You can go back to your normal daily activities after a treatment except for two simple rules:
1) Don't massage, rub or wash the areas injected until the next day after your treatment. This also includes not doing things like having a massage, facial or similar straight after an anti-wrinkle treatment. (for at least 12 hours afterwards)
2) Avoid sports, exercise or vigorous activity for 12 hours afterwards.
These rules help prevent the anti-wrinkle product spreading and affecting other muscles of the face that we don't want to treat. Failure to follow these increases the chance of complications, most importantly eyelid or eyebrow drooping. These are both avoidable and reversible side effects but can take several weeks or even months to settle.
Avoiding alcohol after any injectable treatment until the following day also reduces your risk of worsened bruising.on

The most common side effects include:
- Mild discomfort during the procedure
-Temporary swellings and redness (that disappear within minutes)
- Bruising
Rarer side effects include:
- In less than 1% of cases, patients can very rarely experience eyebrow or eyelid heaviness (called a 'ptosis'). This is very rare, temporary and often resolves in three or four weeks on it's own. This might be caused by a failure to follow the after care rules described above. In this scenario, some special eyedrops might be prescribed to you to help lift the heavy eyelid but you'll need to be reviewed in person first.

There are a few important conditions that make wrinkle treatments unsuitable:
Rare neurological conditions like Myasthenia Gravis
Pregnancy or breastfeeding (this also applies to those trying to conceive, undergoing IVF, or unsure if they are pregnant)
Those with a known allergy to human albumin
Additionally, individuals taking the following medications should avoid wrinkle treatments:
Penicillamine (used for treating Rheumatoid Arthritis)
Aminoglycoside antibiotics (such as Gentamycin, Neomycin, Streptomycin, etc.)
A thorough medical history will be taken before your treatment, but it is important that you inform us of any medical issues in advance.
-
If the recommended dose is done on the day of your treatment, the results will last 2-4 months on average. Most people therefore come every 3-4 months to help maintain a consistent appearance.
A complimentary 2 week checkup up appointment is included with your booking.

A consultation is an essential step in your treatment planning journey. New patients are given longer appointments, lasting 60 minutes. As of March 7, 2024, new regulations from AHPRA and the TGA have introduced stricter rules on advertising for cosmetic treatments. The main changes you will notice include:
Price lists are no longer allowed to be advertised online; prices can be discussed during your in-person consultation.
Specific treatment options cannot be advertised; instead, new patients should book a general 'new patient consultation' to explore all available options.
Before and after images showcasing results from medicinal treatments can no longer be displayed on websites or social media.
Please discuss with Dr. Harry in your consultation. Your initial consultation is free of charge if a treatment is performed!
